PLEASE NOTE: The deadline to complete the 2020 Census has been moved up from Oct. 31 to Sept. 30. Currently in North Carolina, 41 percent of households have not yet responded, and over four million residents across the state have not yet been counted, leaving $7.4 million dollars in annual funding at risk.
Census takers are scheduled to begin household visits on Aug. 11, ensuring that those who have not yet participated are represented in the 2020 population count. Each census taker will be wearing an identifying badge and a mask for safety, and has been trained in health guidelines as social distancing measures will be observed.
Your response will help shape decisions about how public funds are spent for fire/emergency services, healthcare, schools, roads, libraries and so much more. In less that ten minutes, you can help shape our future for the next ten years. If you have not yet participated, please know that it’s quick, it’s safe, it’s convenient and it’s important. Respond today either online, by phone or by mail. Visit www.census.gov for more details!
