The Town Manager’s responsibility is to oversee the daily operations of the Town and its staff. Town Council determines the overall direction for Butner and the Town Manager is responsible for executing their decisions and providing essential services for the Town. The Town Manager is responsible for presenting annually a balanced budget to Council by June 30th.

The Town Clerk is appointed by Town Council as per N.C.G.S. 160A-171. The Town Clerk provides staff support to the Mayor, Town Council and Town Manager. The Clerk is responsible for agenda preparation, meeting notices and proceeding of Town Council meetings. The Clerk is the custodian of all permanent records including agreements, contracts, minutes, resolutions, and other documents; and, serves as coordinator for public information.
Barbara Rote, CMC, NCCMC
The Administrative Assistant supports the Mayor, Town Council and all Departments in Town Hall. This position disseminates information, assists citizens with requests and inquiries, and assists staff as needed.
