The Town of Butner Water Supply Watershed Protection Ordinance requires that all runoff control structures be inspected monthly to ensure they are being maintained and are functioning as originally designed. This is a requirement that is mandated by the State of North Carolina. As part of this inspection process, the Town requires an annual maintenance inspection report to be completed by a licensed professional qualified to perform this inspection. Those qualified to perform the inspection according to the Town’s ordinance are: a qualified registered North Carolina professional engineer, surveyor, landscape architect, soil scientist, aquatic biologist, or person certified by the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service for stormwater treatment practice inspection and maintenance.
