WASTE INDUSTRIES – CHANGE IN DAY OF RECYCLING PICK-UP
Waste Industries updated its system to a computerized system aimed at higher efficiency of service. This efficiency means a change in your day of service. The new service day will be Tuesday and your new service week will be B Week. The new service begins the week of September 3, 2018. Be sure to have your containers out the night before your day of service.
WYNNGATE STREET ASSESSMENT – DELINQUENT PAYMENTS
August 2018 Update
The last day to make an annual installment payment plus accrued interest for this year is December 28. If an installment assessment is not paid on or before this date, all installments remaining unpaid immediately become due and payable. As of August 30, nineteen properties remain delinquent and the Town has begun the process of foreclosure.

PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Butner Town Council believes the community is best served when there is a diverse representation of citizens on the Town’s boards and committees. The Town of Butner is accepting applications for vacancies on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. This Committee advises staff on recreational activities and facility planning, and assists staff with seasonal activities for the community throughout the year. In order to address all types of recreational activities, applicants with interests in competitive and non-competitive activities are encouraged to apply. The Committee meets every other month on the second Monday at Town Hall, as needed. There is one seat open for application with a 4-year term expiring in 2021. Butner residency is preferred.
