Easter Egg Hunt
Every year, Town staff and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Committee invite children to come hunt for eggs and treats, and meet the Easter Bunny! Children can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny. For more information, please contact the Town of Butner at (919)575-3032.
Butner Community Association sponsors an annual street dance and festival known as the Chicken Pickin’ the first weekend in June. A street dance is held the Friday before the main event, typically in the parking lot of LifeStyle Fitness on West C Street. The festival on Saturday features a car show, food & beverage vendors, craft & retail vendors, live entertainment, and a chicken tasting competition. Annually, a 4th of July fireworks display is held at Lake Holt. This event is co-sponsored by the Town of Butner, City of Creedmoor, Granville County, and the State of North Carolina. The event is free and open to the public.
Annually, the Town hosts a campfire near the shelter at Lake Holt. Supplies to make s’mores are provided. The event is typically held the first Saturday in November. Call (919)575-3032 for more information.
National Night Out
National Night Out, a yearlong community building campaign, is designed to: (1) heighten crime prevention awareness, (2) generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs, (3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and (4) send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Join Butner Public Safety for National Night Out! Free hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy to all in attendance. This event features many fun activities including a K-9 demonstration, karate demonstration, helicopter landing, dunking booth, face painting, inflatable slide, and a climbing wall! Emergency vehicles and equipment will be available for the public to explore!
