The South Granville Water & Sewer Authority (SGWASA) has begun work on the I-85 Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project, a large-scale utility infrastructure project taking place in southern Granville County, including areas near the Town of Butner.

While the Town of Butner frequently receives questions related to this project, it is important for residents to know that water and sewer services are not managed by the Town. The I-85 Sewer Improvement Project is planned, funded, and overseen entirely by SGWASA, and the Town is not able to provide specific details regarding construction schedules, service impacts, or project logistics.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, residents are encouraged to visit SGWASA’s official project webpage, where project details, construction updates, frequently asked questions, and contact information are maintained directly by SGWASA.

Residents can also visit https://www.sgwasa.org to sign up for notifications and alerts from SGWASA, including project updates, community news, and utility-related alerts.
