Camp Butner 75th Anniversary
On September 22-23, 2017, the Town of Butner celebrated the 75th Anniversary of one of our Nation’s largest WWII training camps, Camp Butner. After the camp opened in 1942, over 40,000 troops were trained on a 40,000-acre military training facility for combat in the European and Pacific Theaters.
