The Town of Butner Welcomes Jerry L. Ayscue as Interim Town Manager

BUTNER, N.C., (Dec. 12, 2022) – The Town of Butner is pleased to announce that Jerry L. Ayscue of Henderson, N.C., will serve as Butner's Interim Town Manager effective Dec. 30th, 2022, following the retirement of the current Town Manager Tommy Marrow. Ayscue brings over 31 years of business and county management experience to the Town of Butner. He most recently served as Interim Director for the South Granville Water and Sewer Authority from July 2018 to January 2019 and Interim CEO for Franklin-Vance-Warren Opportunity, Inc. in 2016. 

Ayscue served as Vance County’s first Manager from November 1984 until his retirement in 2015. Prior to that position, he worked for the Vance County Department of Social Services as an Administrative Officer from 1977 to 1984 and as a part-time Business Instructor at Vance-Granville Community College from 1977 to 1980.

Ayscue graduated from Appalachian State University in 1976 with a B.S.B.A. in Banking and Finance and again in 1977 with an M.A. in Economics and Business. He also served two three-year terms on the  North Carolina General Assembly’s Joint Legislative Committee on Municipal Incorporation and multiple terms on the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Local Government Employees Retirement System.
