Game Lands

When the Town was incorporated in 2007, it acquired 750 acres of completely wooded land from the State of North Carolina. This land has been part of the NC Wildlife Game Lands program for archery hunting for over 50 years. It is contiguous to the Butner Falls Lake Game Lands, the largest in North Carolina. The area is highly favored by archery hunters seeking a natural and undisturbed hunting environment without the competition from firearm hunters.

For information about where to hunt, please visit the NC Wildlife Resource Commission’s website. The website provides maps and details about hunting, fishing, and getting licenses and permits.
