Town of Butner Declares May 26 as National Poppy Day

Butner, N.C., (May 22, 2023) – On Tuesday, May 16, 2023, Butner Mayor Terry Turner signed a proclamation declaring May 26 as National Poppy Day in honor of our fallen service members. The proclamation was presented to the American Legion Auxiliary Hester Crews Unit #166. The Town of Butner encourages all citizens, residents, and visitors in Butner to join in observing National Poppy Day to honor our past service members who have died in the name of liberty, freedom, and democracy.
