Butner Public Safety Spreads Holiday Cheer with 1st Annual Shop with a Cop Event

Butner, N.C., (Dec. 11, 2023) – Butner Public Safety held its 1st annual Shop with a Cop event on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Butner Public Safety were able to sponsor 13 children for this event.

Shop with a Cop is a community-oriented program where law enforcement officers team up with children in need to shop for holiday gifts. The primary goal of Shop with a Cop is to foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve, especially among children. During the event, participating children were paired with public safety officers who accompanied them during the shopping spree.

After the shopping trip, the children enjoyed a festive Christmas party featuring a pizza lunch, a holiday movie, and photo opportunities with Santa Claus. Officers also lent a helping hand as the youth wrapped their newly chosen presents.

The success of this event is attributed not only to the generosity of the community but also to the dedicated officers of Butner Public Safety, who volunteered their time to make this day special for local children. The program not only provides local youth with holiday gifts but also builds positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.
