Town Ordinances

Town Ordinances and Code Enforcement

The Town has established procedures in order to ensure compliance with the Land Development Ordinance (LDO) and Municipal Code of Ordinances, obtain corrections for Ordinance violations, and set forth the remedies and penalties that apply to violations of each Ordinance. The provisions are intended to encourage voluntary compliance, when possible. Compliance with all procedures, standards and other provisions is required by all persons owning, developing, managing, using, or occupying land or structures within the Town’s jurisdiction.

Violations of the Municipal Code of Ordinances include, but are not limited to, minimum housing standards, non-residential building standards, abandoned structures, abandoned and/or junked vehicles, and public nuisances. LDO violations include, but are not limited to, zoning, subdivisions and permitting.

Enforcement of a violation may include a notice of violation, civic penalties (fines), issuance of a stop work order, revocation of a zoning permit, injunction, order of abatement, equitable remedy, and criminal penalties.

The Town operates on a complaint-basis only. You do not need to give your name to file a complaint. To report a code violation or public nuisance, please contact:
