Our Needs:

Public Safety Officers: Public Safety Officers are trained in law enforcement and fire suppression and perform the duties of both roles. Applicants must be at least 20 years of age and have a high school education or equivalent. Preference given to candidates that have successfully completed the NC Basic Law Enforcement Training or are currently certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in North Carolina, and/or are certified as a Level II Firefighter in accordance with the NC State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Volunteer Firefighters: Butner Public Safety is seeking volunteer firefighters who assist the career members of the department on emergency scenes for fire calls and motor vehicle accidents. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, must be a U.S. citizen or be eligible to work in the United States, must be a high school graduate (or equivalent), must live inside the Butner Public Safety Fire District, possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license, and not have pled guilty to, entered a plea of no contest, or have been convicted of any misdemeanor within the past three years or any felony, regardless of time span.
