Camp Butner Museum Open this Saturday, August 5th
Looking for something to do this weekend? Well, you're in luck! The Camp Butner Museum will be open this Saturday, August 5th, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Museum is located in the Soldiers Memorial Sports Arena at 416 24th St in Butner.
Explore the rich history of Camp Butner through informative exhibits and a collection of historical artifacts. You will learn about the camp's inception, the POW experience, and the remnants that stand as a testament to the Camps significance. The Camp Butner Society and Museum are dedicated to telling and preserving the story of the soldiers, civilians, and prisoners of war who called Camp Butner home.
Staff will be available during your visit to answer any questions you may have about the Town's history or Camp Butner. You will often find one of the Town's very own Councilmembers, Mr. Tom Lane (pictured below), overseeing the Museum on opening days.
