Like many others, Vicky Daniels calls Butner her home. Vicky traces her roots to the southern part of Granville County, where her upbringing instilled a deep appreciation for traditional American values, particularly strong work ethics—a foundation that significantly contributed to her successful career in the medical health field.
As a Medical Technologist, Mrs. Daniels dedicated years of service to the Murdoch Center, John Umstead Hospital, and the Durham VA Medical Center. The majority of her career was spent analyzing patient samples to assist physicians with their patients, finding reward in the knowledge that she was contributing indirectly to people's healthcare.
Since the inception of Butner's incorporation, Mrs. Daniels actively participated in various community roles, serving on the Butner Advisory Council, the inaugural Butner Town Council, the South Granville Water and Sewer Authority, and the Restoration Advisory Board. She also held the position of Former Mayor of Butner (Cates) during a decade marked by numerous achievements.
During those ten years, Mrs. Daniels accomplished much, including the renovation of the Sports Arena, Town Hall, Butner Athletic Park, and the successful organization of the Camp Butner 75th Anniversary. Since her public service, her goals have remained the same: responsible growth, fiscal management, and economic development.
